Before the Sale has been Made
Owners use myPREPcourse to streamline the sales process.
TIP: To evaluate a newly hired instructor's grasp of the material, an owner may assign workbook lessons, worksheets, partial tests, and even full-length tests to the new instructor's Training Student Account.
Then, using the Impersonate feature, the instructor can log in as the training student to complete whatever work the owner assigned.
One policy that we recommend for vetting potential test prep tutors is to assign them a full-length practice test to be completed as part one of a sort of "audition." Let the instructor know if you have a minimum score in mind, but your primary focus is to gauge the instructor's ability to explain how they missed each problem they answered incorrectly. Then, have the instructor complete the audition by teaching a mini-lesson on the relevant concepts.
Before the Course Begins
Owners and instructors use myPREPcourse to
create classes and add students to them.
activate Student Accounts using license codes.
fill out the Course Context to calibrate the data visualizations in the software.
provide the student with a printed course workbook and show them how to access the workbook pdf through the myPREPcourse software.
- lay-out a course template that includes workbook lessons, skill builder worksheets, partial practice tests, full-length practice tests.
- modify the course they have laid out to better meet the needs of the one-on-one student or class.
Note: using a course template does not prohibit an instructor from modifying the course later. The instructor can still add, remove, or reschedule. However, some instructors may prefer to work from scratch by avoiding the course template option and opting instead to add tutoring sessions, workbook lessons, worksheets, partial tests, and full-length tests a la carte.

modify the course to best suit the needs of the student(s) enrolled in the course
gauge student improvement by assigning, scoring, and analyzing "midterm" practice tests
- record session notes
- quickly prepare for upcoming sessions by reviewing the questions their student(s) flagged for review.
- watch video solutions for any problem the instructor doesn't feel comfortable explaining.
- hold students accountable by monitoring their performance and effort
set automatic email progress reports (or trigger them manually)
access the Help Resource Library and the Instructor Certification Course
TIP: encourage students to watch the video solution for every problem they miss. Make sure that they know you can see whether they watched the videos. Please pay attention to whether your student(s) consistently watch the video solutions for problems they answer incorrectly. The data shows that consistently watching video solutions correlates strongly with score improvement.

IMPORTANT: students and instructors sometimes have the wrong idea about how and when students should use myPREPcourse. With some exceptions, students do not log into myPREPcourse during test prep tutoring sessions. We feel strongly that a playlist of video solutions should not replace face-to-face instruction. It is with that in mind that we recommend that students access their myPREPcourse accounts between sessions.
keep track of their work that is upcoming, due soon, or already overdue
punch in answers to problems they've solved as part of their workbook lessons, worksheets, partial practice tests, and full-length practice tests.
