Resetting a User's Password
Resetting a User's Password
TIP: In general, the easiest way to help a student or instructor who cannot remember their password is to direct them to the "Forgot Password" feature on their custom portal login screen. This is true for both instructors and students. However, if you're helping the user troubleshoot in real-time, you may want to resend a welcome email by following the steps outlined below.
- Log into an Instructor Account that has Location Manager Permissions.
a. To reset an instructor's password, click the menu item marked Instructors.
b. To reset a student's password, click the menu item marked Students. - Use the search, filter, and sort features to locate the user.
- Click on the user's name.
- Click the user's Account Tab near the top of the screen. Then click the Menu dropdown on the right side of the screen. Then choose Profile.
For Students:
Scroll down to the Emails section of the Account Tab.
There, you can choose between two options:
- Resend Welcome Email
- Send Password Reset Email
The user should receive whichever email you decide to send within a few minutes. If after a few minutes the user reports that they have not received the email, have them check their spam folder.
Scroll down to the Emails section of the Account Tab.
There, you can click the button marked "(Re)Send Welcome Email."
If the user is still unable to log into the system, please contact
help@myprepcourse.com or use the chat support through the myPREPcourse app.
